Well, it's not true after all. Perhaps the Utah state legislators actually listen to their constituents. And not just those who are members of the predominant religion.
Nine Utah state liquor stores were targeted for closing this summer ... in 2011. And more than 100 employees were hitting the unemployment line.
But they'll stay open. At least for now. Or at least until next February. Of course, no one could really understand why they were closing profitable stores.
It made no sense. With residents in 4 counties raising their voices to declare that closing profitable stores would harm economic development and economic recovery, the closures were at least postponed.
Hopefully, they'll find a way to make the postponement permanent.
