Hi...I've heard the mosquitoes are really bad at Mirror Lake. Is this true? If so, when is the best time to go in July/Aug to avoid being carried away?
In most years I have found that the mosquitoes almost disappear after July 24th. This year is an anomaly because it stayed so moist up there so long that we'll probably have mosquitoes into August.

Yes, the mosquitoes can be quite nasty up there. This is because there is so much moisture in the Uintas during the summer. It rains almost every day.
It seemingly gets better as the summer moves into August. We were there in mid-August and it wasn't too bad at all. I recommend a mosquito repellent (normally containing DEET)which you can apply to your skin or your clothing.
We didn't see any mosquitoes large enough to carry a grown adult away but small children should always be supervised closely just in case. :-)
